The role
- Scoping and preparing fee proposals
- Assisting with business development activity to further enhance, grow and diversify the civil engineering capabilities within the organisation
- Oversee and develop appropriate technical solutions / reports from concept through to implementation stage
- Conduct site inspections / reviews and analyse data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other)
- Attending meetings and communicating with clients to establish their needs & managing all deliverables to ensure client satisfaction and commercial and technical project success
- Maintaining high technical standards consistent with the project brief
- Ensuring all projects are completed in a timely and cost-effective way
- Managing project team to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines and within budget
- Assess potential risks, material and cost
- Provide advice and resolve creatively and emerging problems / deficiencies
- Specific additional elements attributable to the respective Discipline
- Monitor progress and compile project status reports
- Manage budgets
- Working closely with key stakeholders to deliver solutions which exceed client expectations
- Mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior members of the team
What you need to succeed
- Proven work experience within the field of engineering
- Degree in engineering or similar & ideally Chartered.
- Able to design and deliver engineering solutions on major and/or complex projects
- Excellent programme management skills including the ability to handle multiple projects
- Expert in providing project management guidance and direction on multi-disciplinary projects
- Able to understand the balance of engineering priorities on differing projects
- Able to motivate individuals to work collaboratively as a team
- Excellent people management skills and experience of managing staff at all levels
