We are delighted to be working exclusively with an indepentantly owned consultancy, a well‑established and highly regarded civil and structural engineering consultancy, who are looking to appoint a Chartered Structural Engineer to join their Leicester office.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to take on a key role within a growing structural team, working on a diverse portfolio of projects and contributing to the continued development of the business.
The opportunity
The successful candidate will play a hands‑on role in the delivery and management of structural engineering projects from concept through to completion. You will be involved in technical design, project coordination and supporting junior engineers, with the autonomy to manage your own workload.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and delivering structural designs for building projects
- Producing and checking calculations, drawings and technical reports
- Managing projects through all design stages, including construction support
- Liaising with clients, architects, contractors and other design disciplines
- Supporting and mentoring graduate and intermediate engineers
- Contributing to technical standards and continuous improvement within the team
Requirements
We are keen to speak with candidates who have:
- Chartered status with IStructE and/or ICE
- A degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
- Strong UK consultancy experience in building structures
- Proven knowledge of steel, concrete, masonry and timber design
- Confidence managing projects and dealing directly with clients
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
Experience working on residential, commercial, industrial, or mixed‑use developments would be advantageous.
