Civil Drainage Engineer

We have a role available in our clients Exeter office for a Drainage Engineer. The range of work includes developing drainage strategies, feasibility studies as well as outline and detailed scheme designs. This excellent role will enable you to further develop and use your technical skills, applying your expertise to help us continue driving forward in terms of both technical quality and service efficiency.

Your responsibilities will include ensuring accurate and efficient delivery, exercising independent engineering judgement. You will also provide innovative solutions to engineering problems.

The role

• Provide technical design input on drainage projects as part of a project team
• Developing and maintaining good client relationships
• Assisting and overseeing work of junior Engineers
• Undertaking own continuing professional development under guidance from Line Managers
• Operating in accordance with the corporate health and safety, environmental and quality standards
• Delivering strategies, feasibility studies & developing engineering options in detail
• Design Assessments / Reviews
• Overseeing report preparation / CAD drawings
• Micro Drainage / ICM modelling and reviews

What you need to succeed

• Successful candidates will become part of a respected and ambitious company with excellent career prospects.
• A good understanding of highway drainage and other non-highway drainage design, ideally gained within a consultancy environment
• A good understanding of highway drainage design to DMRB Volume 4 Section 2 and MCHW Series 500
• Micro Drainage or InfoWorks ICM hydraulic modelling experience is desirable
• A relevant degree and progression towards qualification with an applicable Professional Institution
