We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our clients team on a contract basis to support a range of infrastructure and construction projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in planning, design and on‑site coordination, ensuring all works meet technical, safety and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and review civil engineering designs, drawings and specifications
- Provide technical oversight on construction activities and site operations
- Conduct site inspections, surveys and progress assessments
- Prepare reports, calculations and compliance documentation
- Liaise with contractors, clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary teams
- Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets and quality requirements
- Assist with risk assessments, method statements and H&S compliance
Skills & Experience
- Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in infrastructure, highways, drainage, structures, or similar civil engineering projects
- Strong understanding of relevant UK industry standards, legislation, and regulations
- Proficiency with civil engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage)
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and stakeholder‑management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
Desirable Qualifications
- Chartered or working toward Chartered status (ICE or similar)
- Experience with contract administration (e.g., NEC, JCT)
- Previous local authority or consultancy experience
