Civil Engineer

We have an opportunity based in Greater Manchester for a Civil Engineer who has a minimum 3 years’ experience. This role is a fantastic chance to showcase your skills and grow within a trusted company.

What you need to succeed:

  • BSc /BEng in Civil Engineering.
  • three to five years’ experience in the infrastructure design industry.
  • Experience in preparing detailed design for infrastructure projects through the Section 278/38 agreement process.
  • Knowledge of Section 104/106 water industry agreements.
  • Knowledge of DCG and relevant drainage standards and guidance.
  • Awareness of DMRB, Manual for Streets and general Highway standards.
  • Proficient in the use of MicroDrainage.
  • Ability in Civil 3D software that can be developed.
  • Good communicator (written and verbal).
  • Good team player to contribute to dynamic group.
  • Commercially aware.

The role:

  • Production of designs for infrastructure and associated planning schemes to appropriate standards from initial concepts to detailed design.
  • Production of Masterplan concept drawings and general arrangements to relevant standards.
  • Assistance in preparation of contract documents and specifications.
  • Undertaking inspections and surveys, preparation of reports and site supervision of projects.
  • Train and guide junior staff in technical matters.
  • Manage small projects or elements of projects as appropriate.
  • Awareness of commercial and technical management of projects to assist in ensuring that they are managed effectively within budgetary constraints.
  • Developing design solutions best suited to benefit clients’ needs.
  • Contributing to the technical development of the design function of the team.
