Flood Risk & Drainage Engineer

We have an opening for a talented Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer to work remotely within our clients award winning UK team. They are a small team of 20 Engineers but who specialise in flood risk, water and environment business with an industry recognised leadership team. They are looking to recruit a team member within the flood risk and modelling team after continued success in our existing work and multiple recent project wins.

The role

They offer opportunities to get involved with a variety of projects, including both public and private sector work. Their current projects include flood defences, strategic infrastructure, and private developments.

You will become a key member of the existing consulting team, providing support in the delivery of these projects including the production of Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies. They offer excellent in-house training to allow you to grow into a well-rounded Flood Risk Consultant and explore any specialisms you may be interested in.

What you need to succeed

• The successful candidate will have an enthusiasm to develop their career in the water/environment sector.
• You will be able to work independently and as part of a distributed team and can communicate effectively both in writing and verbally with colleagues and clients alike.
• Bachelor’s degree in either Geography, Environmental Management, or Engineering.
• A minimum of two years industry experience.
• The ability to write clear, concise, and technically accurate reports.
• Knowledge of the drainage hierarchy and experience in undertaking drainage assessments and design using Causeway, MicroDrainage or other relevant software.
• Ability to undertake drainage strategies both outline and detailed.
• GIS experience using software such as ArcMap, QGIS, or MapInfo.
