We’re recruiting for a talented Flood Risk Engineer who can deliver a high-quality service, has ability to think outside the box. Someone who enjoys a collaborative approach to developing pragmatic and innovative design solutions to the various technical and environmental challenges land development can present.
Our client is a medium sized consultancy with around 350 consultants across multiple offices. Their expertise lies within expertise planning, to design, to environmental consultancy advice, evolving to economics, heritage expertise, transport and infrastructure and finally land and property.
You will be working closely with the local and regional teams within the company producing and advising on flood risk and drainage strategies to accompany planning applications in all major sectors.

What you need to succeed
- A degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering subject plus minimum 1+ Years relevant post-graduate experience. Experience in engineering drainage design is desirable.
- Experience and a specific interest in flood risk assessments and sustainable drainage strategy.
- Consultancy/private sector development background with a bias towards private sector development work.
- Knowledge of applicable UK policy and guidance such as National Planning Policy Framework, Planning Practice Guidance, TAN15, CIRIA SuDS Manual etc.
- Knowledge of the UK planning process for new developments, energy and regeneration projects.
- Numerate and software literate. Working knowledge of AutoCAD. Knowledge of GIS and drainage modelling software such as MicroDrainage or similar would be desirable.
- Effective organisational and communication skills with a collaborative approach and enjoys responsibility.
- Ideally a full driving licence and access to a car.
