This consultancy is looking to expand their Manchester office which is brand new. They are looking for someone who will make a positive impact on the team.
This office has a smaller team but are looking for someone who is motivated and ambitious to grow their role into supporting technical delivery.

The role:
- Taking technical ownership of the production of drawings, calculations, reports and design documents produced by self, or coordinating and reviewing work produced by others.
- Independently using appropriate design / analysis software including CAD.
- Analyse technical problems, assessing the feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures, and devising new approaches and alternative solutions.
- Familiarity with design guides and standards.
- Knowledge of the designers’ responsibilities under CDM (2015);
- Following and contributing to Link Engineering procedures for completing work to the highest standard and adding value to the schemes we deliver.
- Identify and manage risks within your area of responsibility.
- Supporting other team members in their technical development.
- Attending site visits to review project constraints and the construction process.
- Leading and managing delivery of appropriate projects, liaising with clients and third parties.
- Capable of presenting and discussing technical solutions with technical and non-technical parties.
- Identifying and responding to project commercial risks and opportunities.
- Developing fee proposals and project cost estimates.
- Maintaining and developing relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Upholding and assisting with the development and implementation of company policies and procedures.
- Helping to promote the business and explore business development opportunities
What you need to succeed:
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) [working towards CEng] with the Institution of Civil Engineers
- A degree or HND in Civil Engineering
- Line management experience including undertaking of appraisals, identification of training and ensuring performance of junior team member
- Team management and resource coordination experience
- Experience working with local authorities, developers and architects on civil engineering aspects of a range of schemes
- Varied experience working on schemes through the planning process; from pre-app through to condition discharge
- Civil engineering project management experience including projects combining drainage, external works and highways elements
