The role:

  • Lead for the production of 3D models using the Civil 3D modelling software
  • Convert 3D drawings into detailed designs
  • As the project lead, efficiently coordinate the production of detailed drawing and specification output applying expert technical knowledge in line with relevant legislation and industry standards
  • Collaborate on design models, calculations and sketches with other design disciplines
  • Assist in overseeing drawing production and verify work quality from colleagues
  • Assist in the review of consultants’ and contractors’’ design proposals
  • Manage the upload and download of documents within the document management systems
  • Adhere to BIM protocols and office drawing standards
  • Attend and contribute to project and technical meetings
  • Attend site inspections and produce surveys when required

What you need to succeed:

  • 1D and 2D hydraulic modelling, particularly Flood Modeller and Tuflow
  • Hydrology, in particular the Flood Estimation Handbook and ReFH2 and WINFAP
  • Leading bids in the private and ideally public sectors
  • Recognising and communicating flooding and drainage related constraints and opportunities at development sites
  • Producing and reviewing a wide range of FRAs and ideally drainage strategies using MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage
  • Good knowledge of the planning system, in particular policy and guidance including the NPPF and SuDS Manual
  • Good knowledge of the water industry in both the public and private sectors
  • River engineering and restoration experience would be beneficial
  • Good financial control, project management and communication skills in a client facing role
  • Experience mentoring junior staff
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports
