We are recruiting for a Principal Infrastructure Engineer to join our clients expanding Infrastructure Engineering team in Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity to be apart of a successful development team with a wide-ranging portfolio of clients in all sectors across the UK.
The ideal candidate should possess experience in leading projects and teams, whilst also being comfortable getting hands-on with the technical design and production of drawings and documentation. You must have a strong understanding of Civil Engineering best practice and standards, and the technical design skills to produce high quality work on a range of projects.

What you need to succeed
- BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering or a degree qualification in a related subject plus 6+ years relevant post graduate experience and ideally Chartered or Incorporated with a relevant professional body e.g. ICE.
- Ability to manage non-technical project aspects such as contract management including financials, programme and resourcing. Experience with client and external facing role.
- Consultancy/private sector development background with a pragmatic approach and understanding of residential development schemes from concept to construction.
- Effective organisational and communication skills with a collaborative approach.
- A full driving licence and access to a car.
- Demonstrable ability to lead in the production of residential development schemes including highways, drainage, levels and plot engineering.
- Experience in undertaking an independent holistic lead role on major projects working in conjunction with others, including taking responsibility for managing and prioritising project workload for junior team members.
- Ability to design using relevant best practice and guidance such as Manual for Streets, Design and Construction Guidance, CIRIA SuDS Manual, Sewerage Sector Guidance, Building Regulations, and Local Authority design standards.
- Ability to prepare drawings and calculations for both private and adoptable arrangements.
- Experience obtaining technical approval from key approving authorities in relation to S104 and S38 section agreements.
- Numerate and software literate with experience of AutoCAD, 3D modelling software such as Civils3D or similar.
- Experience with drainage modelling software such as MicroDrainage or similar.
