Their Sheffield office continues to grow, driving exciting new projects throughout the region. They are now looking for an experienced Principal Structural Engineer to play a leading role in our team.
Opportunity
As a Principal Structural Engineer, you will lead project delivery, mentor engineering teams and help shape the future of the Sheffield office. You’ll take responsibility for technical excellence, client relationships, and the successful delivery of structural engineering projects of varying scale and complexity.

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage structural engineering projects from concept through delivery.
- Provide technical leadership on building structures across materials such as steel, concrete, timber and masonry.
- Prepare, review and approve structural calculations, design reports and drawings.
- Manage and mentor engineers and technicians within the team.
- Oversee project resources, budgets, timelines and quality standards.
- Engage with clients, architects, contractors and stakeholders to build strong professional relationships.
- Support business development, bids and proposal writing.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, design codes and health & safety practices.
About you
- Degree-qualified in Structural or Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
- Chartered (CEng / MIStructE / MICE) or close to chartership.
- Significant experience delivering structural engineering projects in a consultancy environment.
- Strong technical proficiency in structural design and analysis software.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to guide teams.
- Commercial awareness and experience managing budgets and resources.
- A proactive, collaborative approach to problem-solving.
