Principal Structural Engineer

Our client, who has offices across the country as well as overseas are currently looking for a talented structural engineer to join their team as a Principal Structural Engineer. You will be working on a wide variety of projects which include residential, commercial, hotel, leisure, and refurbishment. This really is not an opportunity that you want to miss!!

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and manage structural engineering projects, including design development, analysis, and documentation.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams.
  • Collaborate with architects, clients, and other stakeholders to develop innovative and cost-effective engineering solutions.
  • Conduct structural analysis and calculations using industry-standard software and methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Oversee the preparation of engineering drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and project reviews.

 Qualifications: 

  • MEng or BEng in Civil Engineering – or equivalent.
  • Minimum of nine years’ experience post graduate experience working  with at UK design consultancy
  • Be a Chartered Engineer with IStructE or ICE (or you’re currently working towards this).
  • You have a great understanding of the CDM Regulations and designer’s responsibilities.
  • Have great knowledge to show your experience of working with British Standards.
  • You’ve got excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver complex and technical information to engineers and non-engineers alike.
  • You’ve developed exceptional planning, organisational and time management skills, with the capability to balance tasks and prioritise to meet tight deadlines.
