About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Contract Senior Civil Engineer to join a dynamic and growing engineering consultancy based in London. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of residential and commercial developments, contributing their technical expertise to a range of high-profile projects across the capital.
You’ll be working alongside a collaborative team of civil and structural engineers, architects, and planners, providing critical design and engineering input from concept through to construction.
Key Responsibilities:
	- 
	Lead civil engineering design and delivery on a variety of residential and commercial schemes 
- 
	Prepare and review drainage (SuDS), highways, and external works designs to UK standards 
- 
	Produce detailed drawings, specifications, and technical reports 
- 
	Manage and coordinate with internal teams, clients, and external consultants 
- 
	Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers 
- 
	Attend client and design meetings, offering solutions to engineering challenges 
- 
	Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards 
Requirements:
	- 
	Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering (or related discipline) 
- 
	Minimum 8 years’ experience, with strong UK project exposure 
- 
	Extensive experience in residential and commercial developments 
- 
	Proficient in Civil 3D, MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage, and AutoCAD 
- 
	Strong understanding of UK design standards (e.g., Building Regs, Sewers for Adoption, DMRB) 
- 
	Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills 
- 
	Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team 
- 
	Right to work in the UK 
Desirable:
	- 
	Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng/IEng) status (ICE or equivalent) 
- 
	Previous experience working under contract/freelance arrangements 
- 
	Familiarity with planning applications and section agreements (S104, S106, S278, S38)
