We have an opening for a 4-day working week Senior Flood Risk Consultant to join our clients Bristol office. Our client collaborates with other technical experts, such as external planners, master planners and landscape architects across the UK delivery a range of excellent projects. You can expect to provide Flood Risk Assessments and Flood Consequence Assessments in combination with outline or detailed drainage strategies.

What you need to succeed
- To have a degree or similar in a hydrology, physical geography or a flood risk related discipline but it’s not essential if you have the industry experience.
- You should be experienced in supporting a wider team in assessing all sources of flooding, thriving on embracing complex and sometimes intimidating problems.
- Ideally an understanding of hydrology estimation (e.g., FEH) and experience in using modelling packages such as Flood Modeller, TuFLOW, Microdrainage or similar.
- You will have proven experience in producing Flood Risk Assessments and surface water drainage strategies through a mix of technical expertise and collaboration with colleagues, project teams and authorities.
- This includes having excellent analytical and report writing skills so you can evidence your assessments clearly and succinctly.
- You will be able to use and manipulate software such as GIS, AutoCAD or Site3D to assist you.
- You should have sound understanding and interpretation of flood risk policy and legislation.
