We are working with a well known and award-winning multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy. We are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Structural Engineer / Associate for their Structural Engineering team in Leicester.
This is a key leadership role within the office, offering the opportunity to influence project delivery, lead and mentor engineers, and play an active role in the continued growth of the business.
The Role
As Senior Structural Engineer / Associate, you will combine hands-on technical delivery with team leadership and client engagement. Responsibilities will include leading and managing the structural engineering team in Leicester, delivering high-quality structural designs across a varied project portfolio, and taking responsibility for projects from concept through to completion. You will liaise directly with clients, consultants, and contractors, support and mentor junior engineers and technicians, and contribute to business development and client relationship management. You will also ensure all work complies with relevant standards, codes, and BIM Level 2 requirements.
Project Portfolio
The role offers exposure to a broad range of projects across the East Midlands and the wider UK. Sectors include education, healthcare, industrial, commercial, and residential developments. Projects range from small housing schemes to complex multi-storey buildings, with construction values typically between £250k and £30m.
Experience and Skills
Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in structural engineering, with proven experience leading teams and delivering complex projects. Strong design capability across steel, timber, masonry, and reinforced concrete is essential, along with a good working knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles. Experience working within a BIM Level 2 environment and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are also required.
Qualifications
You will be Chartered as a Structural Engineer or actively working towards chartership and hold a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
