We have an opportunity for a Senior Structural Engineer to a well-established and highly respected multidisciplinary engineering consultancy in Ashford, who have a strong reputation for delivering innovative, practical design solutions across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to take on a more autonomous, client-facing role within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
This position offers the chance to work within a close-knit, technically strong structural team delivering a diverse portfolio of projects across sectors including residential, commercial, and education. The successful candidate will play a key role in project delivery from concept through to completion, liaising directly with clients, architects, and contractors. You’ll have the opportunity to lead projects, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the continued growth of the Ashford office while gaining exposure to a wide variety of challenging and rewarding schemes.
Our client is looking for a confident and capable engineer who can operate independently while also contributing positively to a team environment. You’ll be comfortable managing your own workload, engaging with clients, and providing practical design solutions. Chartered status is desirable but not essential; what matters most is your experience, technical ability, and proactive approach.

What You Need To Succeed
- Proven experience in structural design across a range of materials (steel, concrete, timber, masonry).
- Ability to manage projects independently from concept to completion.
- Strong client-facing skills with the confidence to attend meetings and represent the business.
- Experience using industry-standard design software (e.g. Tekla, Tedds, Robot, or similar).
- Good understanding of UK design standards and regulations.
- Ability to mentor or support junior engineers.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Chartered Engineer status with the IStructE/ICE (or actively working towards) is highly desirable.
- A strong academic background with a BEng or MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering.
