The Role
- Lead and manage a varied portfolio of projects, delivering high-quality outcomes at every stage.
- Oversee UK-based projects across industrial, residential, retail, commercial, and healthcare sectors, ensuring compliance with Building Regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborate closely with architects, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to create well-coordinated design solutions aligned with project objectives.
- Ensure successful project delivery on time and within budget, maintaining the company’s reputation for reliability and excellence.
- Undertake structural inspections and assessments of both new and existing properties, applying expertise in concrete, steel, timber, and masonry to resolve complex challenges.
- Carry out structural analysis and design using industry-standard software (e.g., Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds), producing accurate and consistent technical outputs, drawings, and reports.
- Prepare clear, professional documentation such as structural survey reports and design deliverables.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, encouraging professional growth and contributing to team development.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently, from concept through to completion.
- Strong technical expertise in both new-build and refurbishment structures.
- Hands-on experience with a wide range of materials, including steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.
- Ability to guide and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a passion for high-quality structural design.
- Excellent communication skills, with experience liaising effectively with clients, architects, and contractors.
- Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., Tekla, Tedds, ETABS, or similar).
- Chartered status with IStructE or ICE (or close to achieving chartership, with clear progress made).
- Degree-qualified (MEng or BEng in Civil Engineering, or equivalent).
