The role:
- Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes at every stage.
- Deliver projects across industrial, residential, retail, commercial, and healthcare sectors, meeting Building Regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborate with architects, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to develop well-coordinated design solutions.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, upholding the company’s reputation for quality and reliability.
- Undertake structural inspections and assessments of new and existing properties, applying expertise in concrete, steel, timber, and masonry.
- Carry out structural analysis and design using industry-standard software (e.g., Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds), producing accurate drawings, reports, and technical outputs.
- Prepare clear, professional documentation including structural survey reports and design deliverables.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering growth and contributing to team development.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Proven ability to manage projects independently, from concept through to delivery.
- Strong technical knowledge of both new-build and refurbishment structures.
- Experience working with a variety of materials: steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.
- A supportive approach to mentoring junior engineers and technicians.
- Proactive, hands-on mindset with a passion for high-quality structural design.
- Excellent communication skills, with confidence working alongside clients, architects, and contractors.
- Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., Tekla, Tedds, ETABS, or similar).
- Chartered (IStructE or ICE), or close to achieving chartership with clear progress.
- Degree-qualified (MEng or BEng in Civil Engineering, or equivalent).
