Senior Transport Planner

About the role

You will be responsible for the delivery of a wide range of transport assessments and travel plans for various clients across the UK using a detailed knowledge and experience of standard modelling packages and recognised transport appraisal techniques.

Duties will be varied but responsibilities will include:

• Manage project workload and finances in line with client expectations.
• Communicate with colleagues as appropriate.
• Continue to update personal knowledge or relevant technical, legal and policy changes.
• Manage and develop colleagues within project team.
• Use personal judgement and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions.
• Maintain continuous professional development.
• Provide guidance on quality matters and technical issues.
• Seek to “add value” to all projects.

To succeed in this role, we’d envisage that you would bring:

• Relevant degree (or higher) level qualification and membership of a relevant professional body (MCIHT or similar)
• Demonstrable experience at a comparable level within transport planning in a consultancy or similar commercial environment
• Proven project delivery capabilities, along with project and client management skills
• Strong software modelling capabilities on relevant software packages such as ARCADY/PICADY/LINSIG
