Strata are currently working in partnership with a trusted client based in the northwest who are looking for a highly motivated Associate Civil Engineer or Senior Civil Engineer to join them. You can expect to work on a wide variety of projects including residential developments, light and heavy industrial & commercial.
You’ll be joining a leading design consultancy with offices in the northwest and London. You will be helping to deliver projects from initial feasibility stage, through planning and detail design and to construction stage. The team you will be joining offer a highly flexible approach to all project, working collaboratively. They can offer a full engineering range design service or provide individual designs to meet our client’s needs. Attention to detail and prompt delivery are core parts of the practice which makes them a success.
The role
- You’ll be developing Concept and Detailed Drainage Strategies, Levels Strategies and Earthwork Appraisals.
- Day to day tasks will include detailed design and construction drawings & securing technical approval for S104, S38, S278 etc.
- Provide the lead Principal or Senior Engineer with general design work and technical support across a range of different projects and carry out work in accordance with allocated budget and within agreed timescales to meet project deadlines’.
- Guide and support junior members of the team, delegate and check work, ensuring deadlines are met and high-quality drawings and designs are delivered.
- Checking drawing packages and calculations and ensuring they meet the required design standards and company QA policies.
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders, preparing of fee proposals, taking responsibility for financial control of projects, and undertaking business development.
What you need to succeed
- The drive to learn and develop themselves, working alongside others within a Team is essential and the candidate should possess excellent communication skills.
- A sound technical ability and understanding of relevant knowledge of site appraisals, drainage feasability and flood risk assessments.
- Experience in working for a consultancy on development schemes, particularly residential would be favourable.
- Ability to use CausewayFlow, CausewayPDS and AutoCAD at an advanced level is essential, and an understanding of Civils 3D/Site 3D would be beneficial.
- Experience in pre-planning and planning stage projects as well as a good understanding of detail design and technical approval (S104, S38, S278, etc) is required.
