Structural Engineer

Our client is a leading multi-disciplinary design consultancy based in Hemel Hempstead, seeking a talented and experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join their dynamic team. You will play a key role in defining and influencing the company culture. You will help set the tone for communication and collaboration within the team, helping to foster good levels of employee engagement, and increasing productivity and efficiency in a positive and supportive environment.

The Role:

• Prepare technical outputs to the highest standards in accordance with the Structa ISO9001 quality management system.
• Provide direction and technical advice to more junior project team members, taking a proactive role in developing team members to their full potential.
• Develop effective teamwork within both Structa and as part of a wider design team of other key stakeholders.
• Contribute to the delivery of multi-disciplinary schemes (civil, structural, geo-environmental) as well as deliver all technical structural engineering services, in both cases demonstrating strong communication and client management skills.
• Prepare technical and financial proposals.

What you need to succeed:

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or alternative equivalent practical experience.
• Near Chartered or Incorporated Engineer, Member of IStructE or ICE or equivalent.
• Significant experience within an engineering consultancy or other relevant business.
• Design experience in a range of structural engineering projects.
• Record of managing, overseeing, and providing guidance to more junior members of technical teams, including graduate engineers or technicians.
• Commercial awareness with a client-focused approach to service delivery.
